UC Davis Medical Center

UC Davis Medical Center is a major academic health center located in Sacramento, California. The University of California 631-bed medical center sits on a 142-acre (57 ha) campus and serves as key referral center for a 65,000-square-mile (170,000 km2) area that includes 33 counties and 6 million residents. It operates inland Northern California’s only level I trauma center and maintains a staff of specialists and researchers in more than 150 areas of health care.

Exante360 was selected by UCDMC to conduct their system-wide security master plan. Our scope of work in included all aspects of security: physical, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, operational as well as technology. The deliverable was a comprehensive findings and recommendations report with special focus on regulatory compliance.

Exante360 certified security project managers performed a risk assessment of all medical center facilities. We also participated in numerous stakeholder interviews (individual and group) to validate some of our initial findings and to obtain additional information regarding the overall security landscape at UCDMC. These interviews are always a powerful change management tool as they promote multi-departmental participation and ownership.

During the process Exante360 associates promoted a balanced approach in which security controls were kept in equilibrium with keeping a welcoming and open environment that adheres to UCDMC highest patient experience standards.
